Details:
On or about Saturday, June 5th, 2021, around 10:45 at night, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car left a 23-year-old Amarillo man dead. Officials said the accident was reported on the southbound side of FM 1541 in Randall County, Texas.
Troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety said 23-year-old Joseph Talamantez was killed when his car allegedly struck the back of a tractor-trailer in the southbound lanes of Farm-to-Market 1541. After the initial collision with the tractor-trailer, the car flipped off the side of the road and burst into flames. Paramedics pronounced Talamantez dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was unhurt in the accident.
According to Google Maps, Randall County is located about 32 miles south of Amarillo.
Police are still investigating.
