Joseph William Hickey was killed and another person critically injured in two separate accidents involving a logging truck driven by Wendall Monroe Lovell on US Highway 17, near State Highway 303, in Brunswick, GA. Georgia State Patrol Officers report the accident took place around 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. Lovell reportedly struck and injured the driver of a Nissan Juke before rolling the logging truck onto the passenger side, spilling the load of logs, with one landing on top of the Mitsubishi Outlander being driven by Hickey. Lovell has been charged with DUI and vehicular homicide in connection to the crash.
