On or about Monday, February 8th, 2021, around 1:50 in the morning, an accident between an SUV and a box truck left a 33-year-old man dead. Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened on the Ventura Freeway (Highway 101) in Sherman Oaks, California.
Investigators said 33-year-old Joshua Ajer was killed when his SUV allegedly struck the back of a box truck that had stopped in the lane of traffic for unknown reasons. Emergency responders pronounced Ajer dead at the scene of the accident. Police identified the driver of the box truck as Michael Snee, who was arrested at the scene under suspicion of driving under the influence.
According to Google Maps, Sherman Oaks is about 16 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles.
California Highway Patrol is assisting local authorities with the investigation.
