Details:
On or about Saturday, April 2nd, 2022, around 1:19 in the morning, an accident between a passenger vehicle and a pedestrian left one individual dead. Representatives from the Travis County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported in the 7400 block of Interstate 35 in Austin, Texas.
Officers from the Austin Police Department said Joshua Anthony Garcia was killed when he was allegedly hit by a passing vehicle as he was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of I-35. Emergency responders pronounced Garcia dead of his injuries a short time after they responded to the scene of the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 35 cuts north and south through Austin.
Police are still working to determine all the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
