Details:
On or about Wednesday, June 30th, 2021, around 1:15 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian left a 26-year-old man dead. Troopers from the GSP said the accident was reported along the northbound side of Interstate 75 in Marietta, Georgia.
Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Office said 26-year-old Joshua Edwards was killed when he was allegedly hit by a northbound tractor-trailer as he was walking along or attempting to cross Interstate 75. Emergency responders pronounced Edwards dead of his injuries a short time after they responded to the scene of the accident. Officials did not mention any other vehicles in their initial statement on the incident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 75 runs north and south along the eastern edge of Marietta, which is about 20 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta.
State and local law enforcement agencies are investigating the accident.
