Details:
On or about Friday, October 29th, 2021, around 6:13 in the evening, an accident between a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer left a 20-year-old Gastonia man dead. Officials from the NCHP said the accident was reported along Highway 321 in Gaston County, North Carolina.
Police from the area said 20-year-old J’son Pitts was killed when the car he was riding in allegedly lost control and collided with a tractor-trailer while traveling at a high rate of speed on Highway 321. Officials said Pitts was ejected from the vehicle in the crash and died of his injuries a short time after emergency responders arrived at the scene of the collision.
According to Google Maps, Highway 321 runs north and south through Gaston County, which is about 26 miles west of downtown Charlotte.
Authorities are still investigating.
