Details:
On or about March 3rd, 2021, a serious hit-and-run accident between a pedestrian and a passenger vehicle left one individual dead. Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along South Bridge Street in Weslaco, Texas.
Officials from the area said 66-year-old Juan Jesus Campbell was killed when he was allegedly hit by a vehicle as he was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of South Bridge Street. After the initial accident, the vehicle fled the scene. Paramedics pronounced Campbell dead a short time after they responded to the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is on the south side of Weslaco.
Police are still trying to track down the driver and vehicle that fled the scene.
