On or about Wednesday, July 21st, 2021, around 7:00 in the evening, an accident between a car and a tractor-trailer sent a 55-year-old Gas City woman to the hospital. Authorities from the ISP said the accident was reported along the westbound side of Interstate 70 in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Police officers say 55-year-old Karen Jarman was injured when the car she was driving allegedly struck the back fo a tractor-trailer that had just pulled over with mechanical problems. After the initial collision, the car flipped onto its roof in the roadway. Paramedics transported Jarman to the hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity. Police identified Saad Yasir-Abood Al-Janaby as the driver of the tractor-trailer, who was unhurt in the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 70 runs east and west along the southern edge of Terre Haute, which is about 76 miles southwest Indianapolis.
Authorities are still working to pin down the cause of the incident.
