On or about Monday, October 4th, 2021, around 5:30 in the afternoon, an accident between a 10-year-old pedestrian and a tractor-trailer sent the child to the hospital. Local law enforcement officials said the accident was reported at the intersection of East Robert Street and North Broadway in Crookston, Minnesota.
Authorities said 10-year-old Kaylee Acevedo was injured when she was allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer that was turning at the intersection of North Broadway and East Roberts Street. Police said the child and their bike were entangled in the truck in the incident, but officials did not say if the child was riding the bike at the time of the accident. Emergency responders transported the Acevedo to a nearby hospital before she was airlifted to a hospital in Fargo. Police identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as Duane Otto Schouveiller, who was unhurt in the accident.
