On or about Tuesday, January 4th, 2022, around 9:25 at night, a serious single-vehicle car accident claimed the life of a 49-year-old man. Authorities from the EPPD said the accident was reported at or near the intersection of Gateway North Boulevard and East Paisano Drive in El Paso, Texas.
Officers from the El Paso Police Department said 49-year-old Kenneth John Gutierrez was killed when the passenger vehicle he was driving allegedly skidded off the side of the roadway and slammed into a utility pole a short distance off the pavement at the intersection of Gateway North Boulevard and East Paisano Drive. Emergency responders pronounced Gutierrez dead of his injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene of the accident. Authorities did not mention any other vehicles in their statement on the accident.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of Gateway North Boulevard and East Paisano Drive is a short distance east of downtown EL Paso.
Police are still examining all the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
