Details:
On or about Friday, May 7th, 2021, around 10:14 at night, an accident between three cars and a tractor-trailer left one man dead and sent three people to the hospital. Investigators said the accident was reported on the southbound side of Interstate 49 in Lowell, Arkansas.
Officials from the ASP said 22-year-old Kevin Sandoval was killed, while 22-year-old Jose Guzman, 27-year-old Brett Glenn, and 27-year-old Isabel Thomas were injured when a wrong-way driver allegedly struck two cars and a tractor-trailer. Sandoval was pronounced dead of his injuries a short time after the collision, while Guzman, Glenn, and Thomas were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries stemming from the accident. Police have not said what may have led the wrong way driver to head northbound in the southbound lanes.
Interstate 49 runs north and south through the center of Lowell, which is situated between Fayettevlle and Bentonville, according to Google Maps.
Deputies from the Benton County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene of the accident.
