On or about Monday, December 6th, 2021, around 5:09 in the morning, an accident between a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer sent a 62-year-old man to the hospital. Deputies from the NCHP said the accident was reported on Highway 222 just outside Kenly in Johnson County, North Carolina.

Investigators said 62-year-old Kevin Lee Morahan was rushed to hospital after his car was allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer that was pulling onto Highway 222 from a private driveway. Emergency responders rushed Morahan to WakeMed Hospital with serious injuries stemming from the accident. Police identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as Samson Fabian Frett, who was cited for failure to yield following the crash.

According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about three miles east of Kenly, which is roughly 45 miles southeast of Raleigh.

Officials are still examining the cause of the accident.
