On or about Friday, June 3rd, 2022, around 3:54 in the afternoon, a major accident between an SUV, a tractor-trailer, and three other vehicles left two people dead and sent three others to the hospital. Troopers from the ISP said the accident was reported along Interstate 55 in McLean County, Illinois.
Law enforcement representatives from the Illinois State Police said 65-year-old Kimberly Grey and one other person were killed, while three other people were injured when a tractor-trailer and four other vehicles collided in a chain-reaction accident along I-55. Police did not indicate how the chain-reaction accident may have started off. Emergency responders pronounced Grey and one other person dead a short time after the collision.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is not far from Funk Grove.
Police are still examining the cause of the accident.
