On or about Thursday, December 9th, 2021, around 11:12 at night, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle claimed the life of a 42-year-old Dadeville woman. Troopers from the ASP said the accident was reported along the eastbound side of Interstate 20 in Cleburne County, Alabama.

Investigators said 42-year-old Kimberly D. Sims was killed when the car she was driving and a tractor-trailer collided under unspecified circumstances while driving down I-20. Police indicated the accident was head-on in nature, but did not provide more information. Emergency responders rushed Sims to UAB Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries a short time after her arrival. Police identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as Michael Thompson who was unhurt in the collision.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 20 cuts east and west through the south of Cleburne County, which is about 80 miles east of downtown Birmingham.
