Details:
On or about Wednesday, September 8th, 2021, around 11:00 at night, an accident between a commercial van and a tractor-trailer claimed the lives of two men. Troopers from the OSHP said the accident was reported along the westbound side of Interstate 80 in Swanton, Ohio.
Deputies from the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department said 44-yer-old Krzysztof Augustynski and 40-year-old Lukasz Pasierbowicz were killed when the Mercedes Sprinter van they were in allegedly struck the back of a tractor-trailer in the westbound lanes of I-80. Paramedics pronounced Augustynski and Pasierbowicz dead of their injuries a short time after the collision. Authorities identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as Amadou Diarra, who was uninjured in the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 80 runs east and west along the northern edge of Swanton, which is about 25 miles east of Toledo.
Police are still investigating.
