On or about Thursday, January 27th, 2022, around 10:00 at night, an accident between a heavy duty truck and a passenger vehicle left one individual dead. Troopers from the MSHP said the accident was reported along Interstate 70 in Columbia, Missouri.
Officials said 67-year-old Lacy Jordan was killed, and 51-year-old Brandon Darris was injured when a Ford F-750 truck allegedly struck the vehicle they were in after it had broken down in the roadway. Emergency responders pronounced Jordan dead a short time after the accident, while Darris was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries. Officials identified the driver of the Ford F-750 as Michael L. Landis, who was unhurt in the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 70 cuts east and west through Columbia, which is roughly 124 miles west of St. Louis.
