On or about Wednesday, May 18th, 2022, around 12:20 in the afternoon, a major accident between a log truck and a passenger vehicle left a 28-year-old woman dead. Representatives from the MSP said the accident was reported along Highway 18 in Claiborne County, Mississippi.
Spokespeople from the Mississippi State Police said 28-year-old Lakenya Shorter was killed when the passenger vehicle she was driving and a log truck collided under unknown conditions. Emergency responders pronounced Shorter dead of her injuries a short time after the accident.
