On or about Tuesday, December 28th, 2021, around 4:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 20-year-old woman from Stuttgart. Representatives from the ASP said the accident was reported along Highway 165 just outside Humnoke in Lonoke County, Arkansas.

Troopers from the Arkansas State Police said 20-year-old Lanecia Nelson was killed and an as-of-yet unidentified child was injured when the car were riding in allegedly veered over the center line of Highway 165 when it collided with a tractor-trailer in the oncoming lanes. Emergency responders pronounced Nelson dead a short time after the accident, but it is not immediately clear if she died at the scene or after being taken to a nearby hospital. Paramedics transported a juvenile passenger in the car to a nearby hospital with serious injuries stemming from the accident.

According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance east of Humnoke, which is situated about 40 miles southeast of downtown Little ROck.

Multiple agencies responded to the scene of the accident to assist.
