On or about Friday, June 11th, 2021, around 7:30 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car claimed the life of a 58-year-old man. Deputies from the Panola County Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened along Farm-to-Market 2517 just outside Carthage, Texas.
Troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety said 58-year-old Larry Bellamy was killed when his car allegedly crossed over the center line of the roadway and struck a tractor-trailer in the oncoming lanes. Paramedics pronounced Bellamy dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident. No other injuries were mentioned by police in their initial statement.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is situated about two miles south of Carthage, which is roughly 159 miles southwest of Dallas.
Police are still investigating the accident.
