Details:
On or about Wednesday, January 12th, 2022, around 10:55 in the morning, a major accident between a passenger vehicle, two pickup trucks, and a bucket truck left a husband and wife dead. Representatives from the VSP said the accident was reported at the intersection of Plank Road and Bragg Road in Spotsylvania County, Virginia.
Authorities from the Virginia State Police said 75-year-old Larry Proffitt and 76-year-old Peggy Proffitt were killed when the car they were in was allegedly struck by a bucket truck at the intersection of Plank Road and Bragg Road. After the initial collision, the bucket truck collided with two other nearby pickup trucks. Emergency responders transported Peggy and Larry Proffitt to area hospitals where they both succumbed to their injuries a short time after their arrival.
According to Google Maps, Spotsylvania County is about 56 miles north of downtown Richmond.
Officials are still investigating the incident.
