On or about Thursday, December 23rd, 2021, around 2:30 in the morning, a serious single-vehicle car accident claimed the life of a 43-year-old woman. Deputies from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported in the 137000 block of Jones Maltsberger Road in San Antonio, Texas.
Authorities from the area said 43-year-old Laura Tijerina was killed when the car she was in allegedly hit a deer before it veered off the side of the road and struck a tree a short distance off the pavement. Emergency responders pronounced Tijerina dead of her injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene. Officials did not mention any other injuries or vehicles in their statement on the incident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is on the north side of San Antonio.
Police are still investigating the incident.
