Details:
On or about Wednesday, December 9th, 2020, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car left a 20-year-old man dead. Deputies from the Cook County Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened along Interstate 57 near 147th Street in Posen, Illinois.
Investigators said 20-year-old Lavel Wellington was fatally injured when his car allegedly struck the back fo a tractor-trailer that was parked on the shoulder of the interstate. Emergency responders rushed Wellington to St. Francis Hospital, where he died on Sunday, February 21st, 2021. No other injuries were reported following the crash.
Interstate 57 runs north and south through Posen, which is located about 21 miles south of downtown Chicago.
Police did not mention any new information about the accident.
