Details:
On or about Saturday, May 8th, 2021, around 9:17 in the morning, an accident between an SUV and a tractor-trailer left a 55-year-old man dead and sent two children to the hospital. Deputies from the Little River County Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened along Highway 32 East in Ashdown, Arkansas.
Troopers from the Arkansas State Police said 55-year-old Lawrence Box was killed and two children were injured when a tractor-trailer allegedly struck the car they were in as they were attempting to turn across traffic. Box died of his injuries a short time after the collision, while the two children were taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured in the accident.
According to Google Maps, Highway 32 runs east and west through Ashdown, which is situated about 20 miles north of Texarkana on the Texas/Arkansas state line.
Police are still investigating the accident.
