Details:
On or about Thursday, May 5th, 2022, sometime in the early morning hours, an accident between two tractor-trailers left one man dead and sent a Texas man to the hospital. Troopers from the ASP said the accident was reported along Highway 80 in Montgomery County, Alabama.
Spokespeople from the Alabama State Police said 45-year-old Leslie Wayne Deloach was killed while 54-year-old Jay Hardy was injured when Deloach’s tractor-trailer allegedly ran a stop and turned into the path of the 18-wheeler Hardy was driving along Highway 80. Emergency responders pronounced Deloach dead a short time after the accident, while Hardy was taken to the hospital with serious injuries stemming from the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the crash is a short distance west of downtown Montgomery.
Officials are still investigating the accident.
