On or about Thursday, October 28th, 2021, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle left a 49-year-old Cove woman dead, and sent a 22-year-old man to the hospital. Troopers from the ASP said the accident was reported at the intersection of Highway 71 and County Road 16 in Hatton, Arkansas.

Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff’s Department said 49-year-old Letha Robey was killed and 22-year-old Waylon Broach was injured when the car they were in allegedly failed to yield at the intersection of County Road 16 and Highway 71 when it collided with a tractor-trailer that was northbound on Highway 71. Paramedics pronounced Robey dead a short time after the accident, while Broach was taken to Mena Medical Facility Hospital with unknown injuires.

According to Google Maps, Highway 71 runs north and south through Hatton, which is about 141 miles west of downtown Little Rock.

Arkansas State Police assisted after the accident.
