On or about Thursday, January 27th, 2022, sometime in the afternoon hours, an accident between a garbage truck and a passenger vehicle left an 80-year-old woman dead and sent an 86-year-old man to the hospital. Investigators said the accident was reported along Route 303 in Shalersville, Ohio.

Officials from the Ohio State Highway Patrol said 80-year-old Linda Baker was killed, while 86-year-old John Gladish was injured when a garbage truck allegedly failed to yield and slammed into the Ford Edge Gladish was driving. Emergency responders rushed Baker and Gladish to the hospital where Baker eventually succumbed to her injuries.

Police have not issued charges or citations in connection with the accident at the time of writing.

Police are still investigating the accident.
