On or about Tuesday, October 19th, 2021, around 11:15 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and an 18-wheeler left an Arizona and an Iowa man dead. Troopers from the NSP said the accident was reported along Interstate 80 just outside Sweard, Nebraska.

Nebraska State Patrol said 63-year-old Lloyd Shobe and 48-year-old Richard Turner were killed when Shobe’s eastbound tractor-trailer allegedly drove over the median of I-80 and struck Turner’s westbound 18-wheeler. Shobe and Turner were pronounced dead of their injuries at the scene of the accident. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their initial statement on the accidnet.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 80 runs east and west just south of Seward, which is about 25 miles northwest of downtown Lincoln.

State and local law enforcement assisted at the scene of the accident.
