On or about Monday, February 8th, 2021, around 7:47 in the evening, an accident between a car and an 18-wheeler left a 23-year-old man dead. Representatives from the ISP said the accident happened on the northbound side of Interstate 57 in Effingham, Illinois.
Authorities indicated 23-year-old Logan Dallape was killed when his car was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer while trying to turn onto the onramp from West Fayette Avenue. Paramedics pronounced Dalape dead of his injuries after the accident. Officers identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as 46-year-old Tyron Hurst, who was unhurt in the accident.
According to Google Maps, Effinham is about 210 miles south of the greater Chicago area.
Illinois State Police and local law enforcement are investigating.
