On or about Monday, May 3rd, 2021, around 4:26 in the afternoon, an accident between a utility and a pickup truck left a 77-year-old woman dead. Officers said the accident was reported at the intersection of Greasy Creek Street and Yonah Homer Road in Berks County, Georgia.
Investigators said 77-year-old Lois Snipes was killed when her pickup truck was allegedly struck by a Georgia Power truck when she turned onto eastbound Yonah Homer Road from northbound Greasy Creek Street. Emergency responders pronounced Snipes dead of her injuries a short time after the accident, while 40-year-old Pamela Snipes was rushed to the hospital with unknown injuries.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is situated in the town of Homer, which is about 30 miles north of Athens.
Police hope to release the findings of their investigation at a later date.
