On or about Wednesday, November 25th, 2020, around 6:00 in the evening, an accident between a Ford Fusion and a tractor-trailer left a 57-year-old woman from Del Ray dead. Highway Patrol spokespeople said the accident happened at the intersection of Lincoln and Temperance Avenue just outside Fowler in Fresno County, California.
Authorities said 57-year-old Lorene Negrete was killed when her Ford Fusion was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer at the intersection. Negrete was Westbound on Lincoln, when the tractor-trailer allegedly turned from northbound Temperance Avenue. Negrete was pronounced dead of her injuries following the accident.
Examining the intersection on Google Maps shows Lincoln runs east and west, whereas Temperance Avenue runs north and south. Only Temperance Avenue has a stop sign at the intersection.
State and local law enforcement are still investigating.
