On or about Saturday, January 29th, 2022, around 4:30 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle left a 41-year-old Sheriff’s Deputy dead. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along State Highway 302 in Loving County, Texas.
Police officers said 41-year-old Lorin M. Readmond was killed when the police patrol vehicle he was driving and a tractor-trailer collided under unspecified circumstances. Emergency responders pronounced Readmond dead of his injuries a short time after the accident. Officials did not mention any other injuries or vehicles in their statement on the incident.
According to Google Maps, Highway 302 winds east and west through Loving County, which is about 197 miles east of El Paso.
