Details:
On or about Sunday, November 21st, 2021, a head-on collision between a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer left a 21-year-old man dead. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Interstate 10 near the Lomaland overpass in El Paso, Texas.
Police said 21-year-old Luis Fernando Molina-Garcia was killed when the Honda Accord he was driving allegedly slammed into a tractor-trailer head-on while driving westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-10. Paramedics pronounced Molina-Garcia dead of his injuries a short time after the collision. Officials identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as 26-year-old Steve Lara, who was unhurt in the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 10 runs east and west through El Paso, with the scene of the accident situated on the east side of town.
Police said they believe alcohol may be a factor in the accident.
