On or about Friday, May 6th, 2022, around 6:20 in the morning, a serious single-vehicle car accident left a 21-year-old woman dead. Officials from the Texas DPS said the accident was reported along Highway 64 in Smith County, Texas.
Representatives from the Texas Department of Public Safety said 21-year-old Makayla A. Gassman was killed when the passenger vehicle she was driving allegedly veered off the side of Highway 64 and rolled a short distance off the pavement. Emergency responders pronounced Gassman dead from the injuries she sustained when she was ejected from the vehicle in the crash.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is on the east side of Highway 64.
Authorities are still examining the circumstances surrounding the accident.
