On or about Tuesday, March 15th, 2022, around 4:30 in the afternoon, an accident between a dump truck and a passenger vehicle left a 75-year-old woman dead. Troopers from the GSP said the accident was reported along Thompson Bridge Road near Oak Tree Drive in Gainesville, Georgia.
Law enforcement representatives said 75-year-old Maria Hernandez was killed when her car was allegedly struck by a dump truck as she was turning out of a business parking lot near Thompson Bridge Road and Oak Tree Drive. Paramedics pronounced Hernandez dead of her injuries a short time after the collision.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of Thompson Bridge Road and Oak Tree Drive is on the north side of Gainesville.
Police are still investigating the accident.
