On or about Tuesday, January 4th, 2022, around 12:45 in the afternoon, an accident between a box truck and a passenger vehicle sent a 63-year-old woman to the hospital. Authorities from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported at the intersection of State Highway 242 and Northeast Trail in Montgomery County, Texas.
Investigators said 63-year-old Maria Leticia Rios was injured when her car was allegedly struck by a box truck that failed to yield at the intersection of Highway 242 and Northeast Trail. Paramedics rushed Rios to a nearby hospital where she was being treated for critical injuries stemming from the accident.
Authorities have since cited the truck driver with failure to yield in connection with the crash.
