On or about Thursday, March 18th, 2021, around 5:40 in the afternoon, an accident between a delivery truck and a pedestrian claimed the life of a 55-year-old woman. Police from the area said the accident was reported along Chapel Street near the intersection with Chapel Street in New Haven, Connecticut.
Authorities said 55-year-old Maria Luisa Morales was killed when she was allegedly struck by a delivery truck that was making a turn at the intersection of Chapel Street and Temple Street. Emergency responders pronounced Morales dead of her injuries a short time after the accident. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their initial statement on the incident.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of Chapel Street and Temple Street is located a short distance from the center of downtown New Haven.
