On or about Monday, January 31st, 2022, sometime in the morning hours, an accident between a bus and a pedestrian left a 72-year-old woman dead. Deputies from the Dade County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported at the intersection of SW 1 Street and SW 2 Avenue in Miami, Florida.
Police officers said an as-of-yet unidentified 72-year-old woman was killed when she was allegedly struck by a turning bus as she was walking in the crosswalk at the intersection of SW 1 Street and SW 2 Avenue. Paramedics pronounced the pedestrian dead of her injuries a short time after the accident.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of SW 1 Street and SW 2 Avenue is near the heart of downtown Miami.
Police are still investigating the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
