On or about Saturday, June 4th, 2022, around 9:45 at night, a major accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle left two adults and two children dead. Representatives from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Highway 180 in Dawson County, Texas.
Spokespeople from the Texas DPS said 62-year-old Marie Dupree, 78-year-old Connie Carroll and two children were killed when the vehicle they were in was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer that was attempting a U-turn across Highway 180. Emergency responders pronounced Dupree, Carroll, and two children dead of their injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene of the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 12 miles west of Lamesa.
