Details:

On or about April 2nd, 2022, around 6:56 in the morning, a serious accident with an alleged drunk driver left a 31-year-old man dead. Officials from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Loop 20 in Laredo, Texas.

Authorities from the Texas DPS said 31-year-old Mario Alberto Baez Jr. was killed when an SUV driven by Esteban Ezekiel Deleon allegedly crossed over the center line of Loop 20 and hit Baez’ SUV head-on. Emergency responders rushed Baez to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival.

Police have since charged Esteban Ezekiel Deleon with intoxication manslaughter in connection with the collision.
