Details:
On or about Tuesday, March 9th, 2021, around 8:40 in the evening, an accident between a motorcycle and a tractor-trailer left a 41-year-old man dead. Troopers from the NJSP said the accident happened along Route 17 near Rochelle Park in Bergen County, New Jersey.
Officers said 41-year-old Mario Andres Uran Gaviria was killed when his motorcycle allegedly struck the back of an 18-wheeler that had stopped or slowed for traffic. Paramedics rushed Gaviria to nearby Hackensack University Medical Center where he died of his injuries a short time after his arrival.
Police are still trying to track down the tractor-trailer, which fled the scene following the initial accident.
New Jersey State Police and local law enforcement are handling the accident investigation.
