Details:
On or about Saturday, August 28th, 2021, around 3:27 in the morning, an accident between a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 28-year-old Osawatomie man. Troopers from the KSP said the accident was reported along the westbound side of Interstate 70 near Pittman Road in Kansas City, Missouri.
Officials from the area said 28-year-old Mark A. Johnson was killed when he was allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer when he may have exited his car in order to inspect a flat tire. Emergency responders pronounced Johnson dead of his injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene of the accident. Police did not mention any other injuries in their initial report on the incident.
According to Google Maps, the exchange of Interstate 70 and Pittman Road is situated on the southeast side of Kansas City.
Police are still investigating the accident.
