On or about Wednesday, October 27th, 2021, around 5:24 in the afternoon,, an accident between a dump truck and a motorcycle left one individual dead. Deputies from the Tioga County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported along King Hill Road in Newark Valley, New York.
Law enforcement spokespeople said Mark Yurko was killed when a dump truck allegedly attempted to turn into a driveway and struck Yurko’s motorcycle on King Hill Road. Paramedics pronounced Yurko dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident. Authorities identified the drive of the dump truck as Don Howell, who was uninjured in the collision.
According to Google Maps, King Hill Road cuts east and west through Newark Valley, which is about 64 miles south of Syracuse.
Police are still working to pin down the cause of the collision.
