On or about Saturday, September 9th, 2021, around 7:00 in the evening, an accident between a pedestrian and an 18-wheeler left one person dead. Officers said the accident happened on the Bend Parkway in Bend, Oregon.
Troopers from the Oregon State Police said 42-year-old Marlow White was killed when he was allegedly hit by an 18-wheeller while he was walking along or trying to cross the lanes of the Bend Parkway near the intersection with Hawthorne Avenue. Emergency responders rushed White to nearby St. Charles Bend Hospital where he died of his injuries a short time after the accident.
The scene of the accident is situated in central Bend, according to Google Maps. Bend Parkway cuts directly through the center of town.
Local law enforcement and officers from the area are investigating.
