On or about Wednesday, November 24th, 2021, around 2:45 in the afternoon, a major accident between a motorcycle and a commercial truck towing a trailer claimed the life of a 27-year-old man. Troopers from the SCHP said the accident was reported at the intersection of Phiffer Drive and Isom Street in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Officers from the Spartanburg Police Department said 27-year-old Marthony Rasheed Beatty was killed when a commercial truck towing a trailer allegedly struck Beatty’s motorcycle while the truck was attempting a turn at the intersection of Isom Street and Phiffer Drive. Emergency responders rushed Beatty to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival. Police did not mention any other injuries in their initial report on the collision.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of Isom Street and Phiffer Drive is situated on the north side of Spartanburg.
