On or about Wednesday, September 1st, 2021, an accident between a tractor-trailer and three cars left a 92-year-old woman dead and sent several other people to the hospital. Authorities from the MHP said the accident was reported along Highway 71 in Redwood County, Minnesota.
Troopers from the Minnesota Highway Patrol said 92-year-old Mary Ann Olson was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly slammed into the back of three cars that had stopped or slowed for a construction flagger. Paramedics pronounced Olson dead of her injuries a short time after the accident, while four children and two other adults were taken to the hospital with injuries of an unknown nature or severity.
According to Google Maps, Highway 71 runs north and south through the center of Redwood County, which is about 135 miles southwest of Minneapolis.
Police are still investigating the accident.
