On or about Wednesday, October 21st, around 4:00 in the morning, a pedestrian accident with an 18-wheeler claimed the life of a 26-year-old man. The accident happened at the intersection of North Locust Point Road and Carlisle Pike in Silver Spring Township, Pennsylvania.

Deputies from Cumberland County said that 26-year-old Mason Taylor was killed when he was struck by an 18-wheeler, and indicated that Taylor was either “at or near the sidewalk” when he was hit. First responders pronounced Taylor dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident.

Officers said that it was dark, and that Taylor was wearing dark clothing.

On Google Streetview, the North Locust Point Road is two lanes that run north and south, while Carlisle Pike is four lanes divided by a shared turn lane, and runs east and west. The intersection is protected by a stoplight. Silver Spring is situated about 34 miles west of Harrisburg.

Multiple agencies from the surrounding area responded to the scene of the accident.
