On or about Monday, February 28th, 2022, around 9:50 at night, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle left a 38-year-old man dead. Troopers from the OSHP said the accident was reported along Interstate 71 just outside Sunbury in Delaware County, Ohio.
Authorities from the Ohio State Highway Patrol said 38-year-old Matthew B. Allen was killed when the vehicle he was allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer after it had spun out in the roadway. Emergency responders pronounced Allen dead of his injuries a short time after the collision.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance from Sunbury, which is about 27 miles north of downtown Columbus.
Officials are still investigating the accident.
