On or about Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021, around 8:29 in the morning, an accident between a passenger vehicle and a grocery delivery box truck left one person dead and sent four others to the hospital. Authorities from the area said the accident was reported at the intersection of North Sycamore Street and Washington Boulevard in Arlington, Virginia.

Police said 49-year-old Mauricio Campos Gomez was killed, while four other people were injured when a FreshDirect grocery delivery box truck and a passenger vehicle collided under unspecified circumstances at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and North Sycamore Street. Gomez was ejected from the vehicle and died a short time after the crash. Paramedics transported four people from the other vehicle to another hospital with unknown injuries.

According to Google Maps, the intersection of Washington Boulevard and North Sycamore Street is a short distance northwest of downtown Arlington.

Police are still examining the cause of the accident.
