On or about Monday, May 24th, 2021, around 10:55 in the morning, an accident between a pedestrian and a flatbed truck sent one man to the hospital. Deputies from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported in the 3000 block of East 38th Street in Anderson, Indiana.

Investigators said Max Homler was injured when a flatbed truck hauling salt allegedly veered off the side of East 38th Street and struck him, before slamming into the garage of a residence. Emergency responders transported Homler to a nearby hospital with a leg injury. Police did not mention any other injuries or vehicles in their initial statement on the accident.

According to Google Maps, East 38th Street runs east and west through a residential area of Anderson, which is about 43 miles northeast of downtown Indianapolis.

Police are still investigating.
