On or about Thursday, January 13th, 2022, around 3:15 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle sent a 26-year-old woman to the hospital. Spokespeople from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Interstate 10 in Vidor, Texas.
Authorities from the Texas DPS said 26-year-old Meagan Lonion was injured when the car she was in allegedly struck a tractor-trailer head-on while driving the wrong direction on I-10. Paramedics transported Lonion to CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth hospital with unspecified injuries. Officials identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as 32-year-old Jared Dudley, who was also taken to a nearby hospital following the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 10 cuts east and west through Vidor, which is about 97 miles east of downtown Houston.
Police are still working to pin down the cause of the accident.
